Community Building, and Good Neighbor Programs are our Cornerstone
Home Repair and Maintenance – Communities Moving Forward allocates time and resource each year to providing home repairs, and yard maintenance to families in need in the communities that we serve.
Wellness Checks – During the Covid Crisis, we provided personal and wellness checks on veterans in need
Community Workshops – We provide community workshops which proved relevant informative and hands-on training. Topics include financial literacy, getting to getting to know our local marine environment, kitchen gardening, crafting skills, health, nutrition, and exercise.
Backpacks for Kids – Communities Moving Forward is committed to providing quality school equipment and supplies so that everyone in the community has an opportunity to take a bold step forward in their education.

Securing goods and services for Local Community Causes
A FEW EXAMPLES:
During the Covid pandemic, Communities Moving Forward secured 500,000 medical masks that we distributed to schools and local food banks in Mendocino County.
We’ve donated 100’s of pounds of fresh produce to the local food banks that were harvested from our raised beds and gardens.
Community Workshops
Opportunity and Transitional Housing
Communities Moving Forward provides opportunity and transitional housing as well as supportive services spanning from the needs of community members in general seeking quality housing and a fresh start to chronically homeless single adults. Residents experience supportive communal living in an alcohol and drug-free environment. We provide clients with secure housing, employment counseling, educational guidance, disability income enrollment assistance, access to onsite and community support groups, and services focused on skill development and recovery.
